Original Issue:

Open front waist chasseur style coat with red trim and brass ball buttons.

Navy Blue with single pleat trouser with a thing read strip down the side.

Navy Kepi with red piping.

Russet Leather gaiters

Flanker companies were issued a red custom shirt with Brass ball buttons to denote their importance (sketch below shows the flanker shirt).

Uniform as the war progressed:

      As the war progressed certain items were removed.  The dark blue trousers were replaced with sky blue ones, the gaiters were dropped, and the kepi was replaced by the forage cap.  Eventually in 1864 the unit was issued manns' accouterments.
